San Jose Mayor Matt Mahan announced a plan for the city’s homeless residents which includes; temporary housing, encampment clearings, and plans to reunite people with their families out of town. San Jose’s 2024-25 budget is doing better than expected, due to improvements in the local economy and saving almost $19 million of last year’s surplus in anticipation of a deficit this year – providing potential funding to support the proposed measures.

Our affiliate, HomeAid San Diego, played a pivotal role in developing this transformative project, which provides career training and experiences for 900 adults with developmental disabilities and their families.

HomeAid Northern California supported a fundraiser the new Tri-Valley Haven campus in Livermore. Tri-Valley Haven is a vital community organization that serves adults and children who have experienced domestic violence, sexual assault, or homelessness in the Tri-Valley area. They create a safe place for individuals who need to heal and to be protected before moving forward.
