Shepherd’s Gate Expansion Project Application Approved by Brentwood City Council

On January 23rd the Brentwood City council approved the second reading of HomeAid’s project application for a 2,877 square foot addition, consisting of three two-bedroom cottage units, communal pantry, and laundry facility, to an existing Shepherd’s Gate residential group home currently serving the community.

This single-story expansion will provide 3 cottages for program alumni graduates to spend an additional 6-9 months practicing everything they learned in the Shepherd’s Gate program while going to college or saving money for placement in their own affordable apartment.  This new addition will significantly increase Shepherd’s Gate current capacity, allowing residents to continue to work on their sobriety, legal cases, and child reunification to help local women and children in need.  HomeAid would like to thank our incredibly generous entitlements team; Builder Captain Shea Homes, SDG Architects, CBG Engineering, vanderToolen Associates, and Advanced Engineering Structural Engineering Solutions for their support of this important project.

If you are interested in getting involved in a HomeAid project or want to learn more, please contact Crisand Giles for more information.
